I was in here just a few days ago and I had a great time! There's so many people and everyone was eating and laughing , jokey around, It's nice to keep come back over and over again and trying new things and old favorites. Still one of my favorite Sacha Psychic Reader
Even 8 hours w/o refrigeration and 3 days old, 5 stars.... Way better than the crap they pass off as food in WA state! Please come to the PNW and make our world a better place.
A true chicago classic. I can see why it's a fan favorite. I'm not huge on sandwiches but these were pretty dang good (and messy) to eat! We ordered their 2 most ordered sandwiches - the chicken vesuvio and the infamous breaded steak sandwich. The chicken vesuvio is simple - breaded chicken, lettuce, onions, tomato, & mayo but whatever they do to it makes it so good. It was also super greasy but its ok. The steak sandwich is what they're known for and recommend everyone to try it! Also simple yet so good!
It is always a treat and feast when my family and I take out from Ricobene's! I mean, look at the amazing ribs, which from the first bite, made your head jerk back from the deliciousness! Truly perfectly made, just right bbq sauce. The cheese fries are the best in the city in my opinion. The side salad is fresh, varied & enough for two. The quarter barbecue chicken tasty & filling, just a little on the dry side but it's the white meat part-it happens. Eggplant Parmesan sandwich missed the photo op because it was eaten very quickly lol Thank you Ricobene's for being a treasured valuable staple in Chicago. You just keep getting better and better!
08/02/24 - I'm back for another of those delicious breaded steak sandwich w/mozzarella cheese & Jardinero peppers. So effin good. These sammiches are amazing but a bloody mess to eat. Not the first & not the last time I'll be there
Haven't had a breaded steak sandwich in over fifteen years. One of my coworkers had grabbed one for breakfast. That started my craving. Had no idea they opened at 9a. Pretty convenient when working ten minutes away. This Italian, family owned restaurant has added quite a few menu items since my last visit. I kept it simple and ordered the small steak with sweet peppers and an extra side of red sauce. Pretty good, every bite bringing back a memory.
Having lived here and visiting multiple times after leaving, hard to believe I'm just visiting this Southside spot that's been around since 1945- better late than never. Busy around 7:30 Saturday night. Ordered for pickup. I shared with the kind Lady who took my order it was my first time -so how do the locals order the sandwich that made this place famous? The King size Breaded Steak Sandwich. Add Mozzarella and Hots on the side-ok! Huge sandwich and enough for two and maybe 3. Tasty Breaded steak smothered with tomato sauce and agree mozzarella took it over the top. Just right crusty exterior/soft interior roll held up well to the Steak and everything else. Kind of like a Chicken Parm but with steak without the Parm-delicious! Hand cut fries were on point. There was a line at the pizza slices counter -next time. Friendly and upbeat people at the pickup area. Don't miss this Southside Gem!
Fast service and friendly staff. I recommend the breaded steak sandwich. Also try their dessert. You will not be disappointed. Can be loud here at times (depending on the time you go) but overall good dining experience. See you on the next visit!
I had been seeing the world famous Ricobene's arm-length sandwiches all over my FYP and I just had to try it. I've been living in Chicago for a long time, and I can't believe I've never been here before. I believe this place was even featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives but don't quote me on that. There's a free parking lot right across the street along with plenty of paid street parking. This isn't your typical sit-down restaurant, rather it's order from the counter, wait for your food, and then find a table yourself. The menu is extensive, and there is so much to choose from! I highly recommend you try their subs though. The decor is kinda typical for a pizza place, but they've added a few touches here and there. I spent a few minutes looking around all the photos they had on the walls and it's definitely entertaining. The two most recommended sandwiches were the Breaded Steak and the Vesuvio Italian Classic. The king size is HUGE, but can feed and fill-up two to three people easily. The sandwich is stuffed to the brim, so it can be slightly difficult to eat and it can get really messy. Grab lots of napkins! The Breaded Steak wasn't really all it's hyped up to be, but the Vesuvio was mouthwatering delicious. It was by far the favorite of the night. I don't recommend you get fries because it felt like I was eating oil straight out of the fryer. This was definitely an experience! Worth a try if you're in the area. Till next time!
